If you’re planning to pursue your education in the United States, you’ll need to meet specific requirements for the F-1 Student Visa. Below are the key steps and documents needed:
- Admission to a SEVP-Approved Institution: The applicant must first secure admission to a U.S. institution accredited by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP).
- Proof of Financial Support: Students must demonstrate sufficient financial resources to cover at least one semester of tuition fees and living expenses in the United States. This is usually shown through bank statements or scholarship award letters.
- DS-160 Application Form: Students are required to complete the Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application Form (DS-160) and pay the non-refundable visa application fee.
- Visa Interview: After submitting the required documents online, applicants need to schedule and attend a visa interview at the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate.
- Supporting Documents: At the interview, students must present key documents including a valid passport, Form I-20, financial evidence, academic transcripts, and standardized test scores.
